Let’s Play! 02Nov

Let’s Play!

“Let’s Play!” was a fun way to demonstrate transparency when working with colors. I imagine this fun device floating through space where anyone or anything can come jump on it or dive in and out of it.

The Dance 02Nov

The Dance

“The Dance” is my first painting live experience. As with most of my abstract paintings the direction of up or down, top or bottom is up to the viewer. As featured here it appears to be a forest with a walking path around a lake lined with birch trees. Upon gazing longer the viewer sees a woman dancing. When the painting is viewed from the opposite direction the viewer sees the side profile of a man and woman kissing. “The Dance” is currently on display at the Wylie Art Gallery in Wylie, TX.
Original – $500

Transformed

“Transformed” is a massive 4′x5′ painting and one of my most beloved paintings to date. I was excited and terrified when the size was commissioned. As the viewer gazes upon the painting, stars begin to appear in the night sky, along with a valley and mountains in the distance. She, having come through the mountains and valleys of the journey of life has been transformed and now has the faith to walk on the water freely. “Transformed” is owned by Randy and Tami Bixby.

Thirst 3

“Thirst 2″ & “Thirst 3″ were the continuing inspiration from “Thirst”. In one the waters are smooth and peaceful where in the other the waters are rough, troubled. Only through the peace that comes from the Divine will the waters of the soul be stilled. Both “Thirst 2″ & “Thirst 3″ are owned by Nate Beaird.

“Thirst” is about the soul of man thirsting for God. When the two collide there is a piercing that takes place within the soul of man. It is both beautiful and violent. In the original the dark blue, man’s soul reveals texture like that of the flesh of a heart. The piercing creates a heart shape as man’s soul gives way to God. “Thirst” is owned by Nate Beaird.

“Joy” reminds me of all things fun and joyful like the ocean, sunsets, cotton candy, sunburst and laughter with friends. It was no surprise when “Joy” found a home with owners, Dr. Tom & Darci Woodard, my dearest friends. When I think of joy I always think of Darci.

Healed 01Nov

Healed

“Healed” is a painting I created while vacationing in AZ. I met a wonderful couple and felt inspired to create a painting for them that would remind them that they had overcome the medical battles and were now healed. As with a lot of my paintings the viewer can see a man’s face and several human profiles in the painting that were not intentional. It is owned by Nan & Neil Morris.
